Throughout this semester we learned about three different types of philosophies; utilitarianism, libertarianism and egalitarianism. After each philosophy we were tasked with writing an argumentative essay about the give philosophy. After we finished all three philosophies, we had to write a final essay where we argued for what philosophy would best solve the issue of certain case studies. The case study I focused on was heart disease and the philosophy I chose that will help solve heart disease was utilitarianism. This semester we also created a class book called Health n' Justice. Everyone in the class was paired up with another person from their panel group to create two book pages about their panel topic. I was in panel one and our topic was heart disease. My partner and I decided create book pages on Heart Failure. The document above on the left is out text page where we have fast facts and important information about heart failure and the document above on the right is two different images of heart failure. The image of the man is the humanities image we had to create which is a man experiencing chest pain which is a symptom of heart failure. The image below it is of two different hearts. The small heart is a normal heart, free of disease and the larger heart is a heart that suffered heart failure.
